This site’s main aim to provide a review of some of the most significant items seen by the author at various airshows in Europe and North America. Now covering 25 years, this years displays plus will be added as they occur and various gaps from the early 1990's will be added as time allows for scanning. If you enjoy the photos or have any other comments on what you’ve seen then e-mail me at the following address:- mark@mwindridge.com The following links provide access to information on displays during the following year
The main purpose of this portion of the site is to provide information on aircraft resident in AMARC, Davis Monthan AFB Tucson Arizona. This is the storage base for aircraft from all the armed services of the United States. While many of the planes will eventually be reduced to scrap through recovery of spares, AMARC is definitely not just a 'boneyard'. Indeed, many of the A-10 Thunderbolts in storage are expected to be modernised and returned to service as aircraft in current operation are worn out. Each aircraft on arrival is given a unique parking code, sequentially numbered which describes the current owner (Air Force - AF, Navy - AN, for example) and the type (Air Force owned F-4 Phantom - FP, for example). To track the location of each aircraft at any point of time, AMARC is divided into Areas, which are subdivided into lines and finally locations within lines. Thus 210308 would be a plane in Area 21, third row and eighth in line. The 'Freedom of Information Act' has meant that enthusiasts have been able to obtain lists of the residents over an extended period and this information provides the basis for reconciling the actual residents at one time. Indeed, this can be done down to location, row and area. The information provided here will show reconciliation's on certain dates, with aerial photographic evidence and lists.
